Operation Sea Lion
Peter Fleming, older brother of 007 author, Ian Fleming, was an adventurer and correspondant for The Times and The Spectator, as well as being the author of over a dozen books. In this book, Fleming briefly touches on the Battle of Britain, but mainly concentrates on what might have happened had the German's proceded with their planned invasion.
Unlike many other books on the subject, Fleming doesn't gloss over the inadequacies of the German plans, and the problems that Sealion would have faced. In this way, believe that the book is a lot more realistic than many others. Fleming also takes time to review the British national mood at the time (including some contemporary cartoon illustrations), as well as the anti-invasion preparations.
This book is definitely worth reading. And, for anybody who still thinks that Sealion would have led to a Nazi victory in World War II, you must read this book.
